Amel has been constructing glass fibre yachts since 1962. The company’s newer yachts are branded as Amel models to honour the memory of founder Henri Amel, who died in 1995 at the age of 82 years.
The AMEL 55 was created with direct inspiration from the modern and elegant design of the AMEL 64. She was developed according to the latest improvements of the yard in terms of performance, visibility, ingenuity and comfort of the layouts, but still keeping the AMEL fundamental assets. The 55 comes either in a cabriolet version or with a hardtop.
The inside layout exists in two versions : either three double cabins for the standard version, or one double forward and a very large aft owner’s cabin.

The numerous items of equipment designed to assist in handling the yacht almost make you forget that you are aboard a 64 footer: electric furlers for all the sails, retractable bow and stern thrusters, electric winches, and all the controls centralized in the cockpit ensure all the manoeuvres are carried out in serenity and always with excellent visibility.
